• THE ASTRO-METRICS CONCEPT
  This concept can be very briefly summarized by the assumption that stars, planets and their satellites (moons)are seeded by primordial black holes (PBHs) These radiate, and as they grow smaller, they grow hotter. Thus the earth should theoretically be (slowly) heating and expanding.
  • HYPOTHESIS OF A DAEMON KERNEL OF THE EARTH

Drobyshevski The main ideas of the work were presented at the International Conference "AstroKazan--2001" (24-28 September, 2001, Kazan, Russia) The paper considers the fate of the electrically charged (Ze~10e) Planckian elementary black holes - daemons - making up the dark matter (DM) of the Galactic disk, which, as follows from our measurements, were trapped by the Earth during 4.5 Gyr in an amount of ~10²⁴. Due to their huge mass (~2x10^(-8)kg), these particles settle down to the Earth's center to form a kernel. Assuming the excess flux of 10-20 TW over the heat flux level produced by known sources, which is quoted by many researchers, to be due to the energy liberated in the outer kernel layers in daemon-stimulated proton decay of iron nuclei, we have come to the conclusion that the Earth's kernel is presently measured in few fractions of meter in size. The observed mantle flux of 3He (and the limiting 3He/4He ~ 10^(-4) ratio itself) can be provided if at least one 3He(or 3T) nucleus is emitted in a daemon-stimulated decay of ~100-1000 Fe nuclei. This could remove actually the only objection to the hot origin of the Earth and to its original melting. The high energy liberation at the center of the Earth drives two-phase two-dimensional convection in its inner core (IC), with rolls oriented along the rotation axis. This provides an explanation for the numerous features in the IC structure revealed in the recent years. The energy release in the kernel grows continuously as the number of daemons in it increases. Therefore the global tectonic activity, which had died out after the initial differentiation and cooling off of the Earth was reanimated ~2 Gyr ago by the rearrangement and enhancement of convection in the mantle as a result of the increasing outward energy flow. It is pointed out that as the kernel continues to grow, the tectonic activity will become intensified rather than die out, as this was believed before. They are catching up!

    More than half of the recently detected extrasolar planets appear not to be planetary objects at all. A study suggests that the companions are not planets, but brown dwarfs . The confusion arises because of the inability of the radial velocity techniques to determine the masses of the companions. Radial velocity observations cannot distinguish between a planet in an orbit that is viewed nearly edge on from a brown dwarf or stellar companion in an orbit that is nearly in the plane of the sky.
    Both astrometric data from the European Space Agency (ESA) Hipparcos spacecraft, as well as radial velocity data, was used to determine the inclination of the companion orbital planes to the line-of-sight of the observer and thus to determine masses for the proposed extrasolar companions. The Astro-Metrics Concept envisions that our own Sun has a sub-brown dwarf companion.

    PASADENA, CALIF.--"It's not even wrong" was physicist Wolfgang Pauli's famous putdown for a theory he regarded as implausible and inconsequential. For the past several years, it has been most astronomers' response to the ideas of David C. Black. The researcher from the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston is the most outspoken skeptic of the discovery of planets around other sunlike stars.
    Now, for the first time, some evidence for Black's view has emerged. At the Division for Planetary Sciences conference in Pasadena last October, veteran planet hunter George D. Gatewood of the University of Pittsburgh Allegheny Observatory presented the results of a study he conducted with Black and then graduate student Inwoo Han. They checked whether the parent stars of the purported planets swayed from side to side, the sign of a cosmic do-si-do with partners too small to be seen directly. In many cases, the team concluded, the swaying motion was strong enough that the partners must be fairly heavy--brown dwarfs or other smallish stars, it would seem.
    Han, Gatewood and Black have extended previous work that merged radial velocities with astrometric data from the Hipparcos satellite. They found that out of 30 stars with companions, 15 showed astrometric motion, which implies that the partners are brown dwarfs or stars. "If that's right, it sure does make life interesting," Heacox says. Sure does. Maybe many single Sun-like stars have brown dwarf companions, like our own Sun.

    Maciej Konacki, a senior postdoctoral scholar in planetary science at Caltech, reports on the discovery of the Jupiter-class planet orbiting the main star of the close-triple-star system known as HD 188753. The three stars are about 149 light-years from Earth and are about as close to one another as the distance between the sun and Saturn.

    Stephen Hawking is the most famous scientist on the planet.
    According to Susskind, if Hawking's ideas were correct then it would infect all physics; there would no longer be any direct link between cause and effect. Physics would become impotent. Since that meeting the "information paradox" has come to be seen as one of the most fundamental and most difficult problems in physics.
    Arguments effectively boiled down into two camps. On the one side, Susskind and those who believed that Hawking was wrong and that information could not be lost - and on the other, Hawking and those who believed that physics would have to be re-written to take into account the uncertainty about information that Hawking had uncovered.
    He claimed to have solved the information paradox. But to the surprise of many in the audience, he was not at the conference to defend his long-held belief that information was lost in black holes. Instead, he was there to say he could now prove the opposite.

This suggests that planetary systems are impressively rugged and may be common in even the most tumultuous stellar nurseries."

  • MULTI PLANET SYSTEM THAT COULD ALTER PLANET FORMATION THEORY DISCOVERED
    Cochran and Endl, who have been monitoring the star, HD 155358, since 2001, using the High Resolution Spectrograph on HET found that the star's radial velocity, or motion toward and away from Earth, showed a wobble, which they believe is caused by unseen companions tugging onto the star.
    Studies revealed HD 155358 is slightly hotter than the Sun, but a bit less massive.
    It contains 20 percent as much of the chemical elements called metals - elements heavier than hydrogen or helium - as the Sun. Along with one other star (called HD 47536), it contains the fewest metals of any star found to harbour planets, the researchers said.
    Researchers deduced the star's age at roughly 10 billion years, and found that one planet orbiting the star had an orbital period of 195 days and, at a minimum, is 90 percent as massive as Jupiter.
    It orbits HD 155358 at a distance of 0.6 AU (An astronomical unit, or AU, is the Earth-Sun distance of 150 million km, or 93 million miles).
    The other planet was found orbiting HD 155358 in 530 days, with a minimum mass half that of Jupiter, at a distance of 1.2 AU.
    Studies further revealed that the planets' orbits are not circular, and they orbit close to each other and thus interact gravitationally -- they push each other around.
    "It's like a dance, Rob's calculations show us how the orbits change over time: first more eccentric, then more circular, and back again. The system is stable, and the pattern repeats about every 3,000 years," said Endl.
    According to graduate student Robert Wittenmyer, the planets are trading eccentricity with each other.
    "When one orbit is more circular, the other is more eccentric," he said.
    Endl said: "the combination of massive planets orbiting a metal-poor star has consequences for theories of planet formation".

    Late and heavy: Did a fifth rocky planet, long subsumed by the Sun, create the bombardment that pockmarked the surface of the Moon?
    NEW YORK: The fiery demise of a fifth rocky planet in our Solar System might have led to a flurry of asteroid impacts that pockmarked the Moon and Earth billions of years ago.
    The Late Heavy Bombardment (LHB) is a relatively brief period, about 3.9 billion years ago, when wayward space projectiles heavily pelted the Moon and inner planets. Craters from that chaotic time are still visible on the Moon, but have been erased from Earth, where the crust is continually recycled.
    David Kring, a planetary scientist at the U.S. Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston, Texas, agrees that the Planet V hypothesis is interesting because it suggests an inner Solar System origin for the impacting debris. But he added that Chamber's "model relies on the invention of an unknown planet... so it is a hypothesis that will need to be rigorously tested with the geologic record."
    One such test could be done if scientists had more lunar rock samples, he said. It was using these samples, returned by NASA's Apollo missions, that scientists were able to date the Late Heavy Bombardment in the first place.

  * Astronomers are already postulating that these objects are captured extrasolar planetesimals from low-mass stars or brown dwarfs encountering the Sun.
  ** Kenyon and Bromley say that only the detection of objects with orbits inclined 40 degrees or more from the plane of the ecliptic will prove the existence of 'alien' planetoids. This may be why the existence of 2003 UB313 was kept secret. In other words, it associated these bodies with a brown dwarf star, i. e. Vulcan.

  • STRANGE NEW WORLDS COULD MAKE MINIATURE SOLAR SYSTEMS
    In one new study, six objects ranging in heft from five to 15 times the mass of Jupiter were observed. None are bound to stars. All are young and have disks of gas and dust that resemble disks found around young stars. Our own Sun had such a disk, out of which asteroids, comets and planets formed, theorists say.
    The scientists involved in the new research are calling the objects "planemos," short for planetary mass objects that were born in the manner of stars and do not orbit normal stars.
    "Now that we know of these planetary mass objects with their own little infant planetary systems, the definition of the word 'planet' has blurred even more," said study leader Ray Jayawardhana from the University of Toronto.

    It is more reasonable to postulate that the primordial black hole solar system gains mass (especially the heavy elements) as the universe just begins its expansion. First, the PBHs would form, then heavy elements and finally the lighter elements, especially hydrogen. It is hard to see how the PBHs could acquire matter just after forming. However, there will be a point during the expansion of the universe when the PBH solar system is floating in a sea of condensing matter. If the PBHs acquired mantels of heavier elements just after the beginning of the universe, prototype solar systems would form with planets much the size observed today. Suns, made of heavy elements, would radiate by gravitational contraction for millions of years. Then they would cool, forming large astronomical bodies of dark matter, not observable by the astronomer's telescope. While the heavy elements form first, both they and the clouds of hydrogen and helium gas form at approximately the same time. But the heavy element solar systems aand the clouds of hydrogen and helium gas may not get together until much later.

    Prototype solar systems can add significantly to the estimated mass of the universe. These prototype solar systems can drift through the universe for billions of years before being attracted to the gravitational potential of a huge cloud of hydrogen. Then, the dark stars begin to acquire substantial hydrogen mass. The cloud need not have specific angular momentum or be disc shaped, but may appear like most of the gaseous nebula usually observed (e.g. the Orion nebula).

  • WHAT ELEMENTS MAKE UP THE SUN (EG. IRON OXYGEN....ETC)?
    The predominant element in the Sun is hydrogen, and then helium: by mass, it is 70% hydrogen, 28% helium, 1.5% carbon, nitrogen and oxygen, and 0.5% all other elements.
    Note that heavy elements are everything except hydrogen and helium.

  • NEW STUDY SUGGESTS 'PLANEMOS' MAY SPAWN PLANETS AND MOONS
    Forget our traditional ideas of where a planetary system forms -- new research led by a University of Toronto astronomer reveals that planetary nurseries can exist not only around stars but also around objects that are themselves not much heftier than Jupiter. It suggests that miniature versions of the solar system may circle objects that are some 100 times less massive than our sun.
    The ASTRO-METRICS version of our prototype solar system as our Sun at about 19 Jupiter masses, Vulcan at 0.5 Jupiter masses and significantly smaller Jovians reflecting only their heavy element content.
  • MINI-PLANET SYSTEMS GET STRANGER
    Mini planetary systems may orbit cosmic objects that are 100 times smaller than our Sun, research suggests.
    If the discs were capable of evolving larger aggregations of material, it would blur the definition of the word "planet", scientists said.
    Located about 450 light-years away in a star-forming region, four of the objects are just a few million years old, making them cosmic "newborns". They have masses between five and 15 times that of Jupiter.
    But unlike Jupiter, these objects are floating through space without an accompanying star.
  • BROWN DWARFS: A NEW CLASS OF STELLAR LIGHTHOUSE
  • STRANGE 'TWIN' NEW WORLDS FOUND A pair of strange new worlds that blur the boundaries between planets and stars have been discovered beyond our Solar System.
    The pair belongs to what some astronomers believe is a new class of planet-like objects floating through space; so-called planetary mass objects, or "planemos", which are not bound to stars.
    And while they have similar masses to many of the giant planets discovered beyond our Solar System (the largest weighs in at 14 times the mass of Jupiter and the other is about seven times more massive), they are not thought to be true planets either.

    A real revolution is afoot in planetary science. The first shot was fired in 1930, with the discovery of Pluto, but almost no one realized its import. The second and third shots came in the late 1970s, with the discovery of distant objects called Chiron and Charon, but again, few recognized what they would portend.
